Henrik Kjeldgaard Jørgensen (1961) is educated in Philosophy and the History of Literature at The University of Aarhus where he finished his Ph.D-thesis Autonomy and Bioethics in 1997.  After employment at the University in the period from 1997-2000 he was employed in his present position as project leader in the secretariat of The Danish Council of Ethics, where he in cooperation with the council draws up reports and teaching materials concerning bioethical matters, for example in relation to artificial insemination, patenting and genetically modified organisms (see www.etiskraad.dk).  In relation to his research as well as in relation to his employment in the secretariat of the Danish Council of Ethics HKJ's field of work has been political philosophy and employed ethics, especially in relation to bioethics.
