Hysse Forchhammer achieved her masters in psychology from University of Copenhagen in 1985. In 1995 she completed her PhD. thesis concerned with the application of concepts of life quality in Danish and international cancer research. Since 1985 she has primarily worked within clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation of people with brain damage. To mention just a few areas of work experience, Hysse Forchhammer has been working at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Brain Injury, and for The Danish Cancer Society. Since 1995, she has been at the neurological department at Glostrup Hospital. As a senior researcher, Hysse Forchhammer has studied the rehabilitation of patients with apoplexy in their own home. One of the issues studied in this research was the use of technology among this group of patients. She has published a number of journal articles as well as book chapters on the subject of the concept of life quality, rehabilitation, technology applications, and neuropsychology. She supervises externally as well as internally and teaches on several universities and educational institutions.
